Well when the heartburn kciks in you might want to stop with the spicy foods but as long as you can tolerate it you are ok. As far as energy drinks, that is a big no no. I am a big fan myself and found it hard at first but my ob said to definetly not do the energy drinks.

Spicy foods are fine, but you should skip the energy drinks – your baby doesn’t need all that caffeine and extra sugar.

Spicy food may affect the baby .it will feel hotter inside and uncomfortable

Spicy food is fine but you may want to cut down or cut out the energy drinks. Caffeine has been shown to increase your miscarriage risk. Caffeine should be limited anyway.

Eating spicy foods will not only give you really bad heartburn, but the baby can taste certain foods you do eat in the amniotic fluid. While it’s not likely doing too much now, it will when you are bigger. As well as energy drinks? A lot of them contain gensing and that’s a pregnancy no-no. Ginseng has been known to have links to miscarriage. Besides that fact, when you drink an energy drink and get all ‘energized’ so does baby. Babies at that age aren’t able to handle that much stimulation and it could cause damage. Spice in moderation shouldn’t hurt you, but lay off spice and the drinks.

Energy drinks are bad to begin with for anyone, but terrible for a newly developing baby. As another person said, caff can increase your risk for miscarriage. It’s not worth it.
As for spicy foods, if you can tolerate them, go for it. I looooove spicy food but have not been able to handle it this pregnancy due to miserable heartburn. I have just a couple more weeks to go and can’t wait until then because the first thing I’m going to do is make my hubby take me out to a Mexican restaurant and order the hottest meal I can get!

Spicey food should be ok until you cant stand the indigestion and heart burn anymore.
But as far as the energy drinks – i would cut back possibly to none – too much sugar and caffine in those drinks! Caffine is bad for baby and may cause miscarriages!

I am not a doctor but I don’t believe spicy foods is bad for pregnancy. However, energy drinks, at least the ones that contain a lot of caffeine should be avoided during pregnancy.
